Economics (B.A.) and Finance (B.S.) Double Major Degree

The Economics and Finance double major at Westfield State University offers a solid foundation in both fields, combining theory with practical experience. Students will take core courses like Principles of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, along with Intermediate Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, to build a strong understanding of economic principles. Alongside these, courses such as Money and Banking provide key insights into the world of finance while Econometrics will give students data analytic tools.

Students can choose from a variety of electives that explore finance and economics in greater detail, such as Public Finance, Economics of Development, and Environmental Economics. These courses help students gain a better understanding of financial systems, investment strategies, and global markets. The program also includes a Senior Research Seminar, allowing students to apply their knowledge to real-world financial and economic issues.

With a focus on financial analysis and economic strategy, graduates are prepared for success in industries like banking, investment, public policy, and corporate finance.
