Shape Future Generations: Become a Licensed School Counselor in Massachusetts with Our Comprehensive Program

The School Counseling Program at Westfield State University offered through the Psychology Department, prepares students for Massachusetts licensure as a school counselor at the Initial level.

The program of study for school counselors consists of forty (40) credits of required core courses and eight (8) credits of practicum (450 hours). In addition, twelve (12) credits in electives are required for the Master of Arts sixty (60) credit degree program. Pre-practicum requirements for certification are included in several core courses.
