Annual Owl Ball Brings Students “Under the Stars”

On the evening of Friday, April 11th, the 2025 Owl Ball transformed the Tekoa Country Club into an enchanting celebration of community and spirit. Students gathered for dinner and camaraderie, momentarily escaping the pressures of the end-of-semester workload, while the dance floor sparkled with glamorous gowns and sleek suits that embodied this year’s "Under the Stars" theme.

“My experience was very positive. I had so much fun with my friends. The highlight of the night would absolutely be when the DJ put on ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber and everyone went crazy. It was fun dancing with everyone,” exclaims Anna Brewer, a Westfield State Social Work major.

The evening's energy was fueled by DJ Boogy, a Westfield State University alum, whose electrifying playlists and lively commentary kept the crowd dancing all night. Each song brought the room to life with attendees singing along and showcasing their best moves. One unforgettable moment came during a Michael Jackson track, when a member of the Owl community wowed the crowd with a spectacular moonwalk, earning cheers and applause.

Adding to the magic, the venue featured dazzling moon-and-star-themed backdrops, offering students perfect spots to capture their memories. A 360° camera booth was a major hit, as friends lined up eagerly to strike their best poses and document their night in style.

The night was also a feast for the senses, with plates piled high with savory pasta, fresh vegetables, and crisp salads. Conversations flowed effortlessly as students gathered around their tables, sharing stories and laughing during the memorable event. The Cocktail Lounge, buzzing with energy during the social hour preceding dinner, became a hotspot for mingling and forging new connections. 

As the festivities unfolded, the 2025 Owl Ball proved to be a night to remember, radiating joy, unity, and the spirit of togetherness that defines the Westfield State University community. From the glimmering decorations and lively entertainment, to the bonds formed and memories created, the event, once again, solidified its place as a cherished highlight of the academic year.
